Accountant (Nomina)

Job Purpose

To produce financial statements and prepare management accounts whilst supporting the Nomina accounting and operations teams in relation to their day-to-day operational requirements, as related to their corporate activity associated with their Lloyd’s underwriting.

Accountabilities

  1. Production of financial statements and liaising with auditors
  2. Preparation of management accounts
  3. To assist the Nomina Accounting team to meet all its financial reporting obligations for Nameco’s and LLP’s
  4. To assist in the production of Holding Company and Corporate Partner financial statements
  5. To assist with Management reporting requirements for Lloyd’s Corporate participants
  6. To assist in the daily administrative and accounting activities of Nomina
  7. To provide support in the co-ordination of the audit of Lloyd’s Corporate participants
  8. To keep up to date with relevant legislative changes in respect of Anti-Money Laundering Regulations
  9. To represent Nomina Plc on working parties internally and externally as directed by the Line Manager
  10. To be familiar with the legislation and Lloyd’s requirements for Corporate members of Lloyd’s

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of producing financial statements and being able to liaise with auditors
  • Previous experience of preparing management accounts
  • Strong Excel skills including being able to manipulate and review large volumes of data
  • Strong communication skills to be able to build working relationships with various stakeholders including Nomina clients.
  • Be able to work under pressure to tight and changing deadlines through prioritising workloads
  • Accuracy and an eye for detail are essential for this role.
  • The company uses a number of bespoke IT systems. Full training will be given but it is important that the candidate has good general computer literacy and confidence.
  • Insurance industry experience preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

  • The candidate will be a qualified accountant.
  • In addition to the duties listed, the jobholder is required to perform other reasonable duties (within the jobholders’ capabilities) assigned by line management
